2nd December 2014 @ Poetrylive

8PM at the Thirsty Dog, 469 K’rd

Guest Poet: James Crompton

James CromptonThis is James’s final book launch of a four-part series following “The Leaves Of Autumn”, “In The Dead Of Winter” and “The Birth Of Spring”. The books span eighteen years of writing, and poems range from the deadly serious to the utterly ridiculous, exploring the full gamut of his human experience. James is something of a spiritual junkie having explored many esoteric practices; his poems often have a quirky self-reflexive style. He has a degree in English Literature and moonlights as an actor and a musician.

Guest Musician: Miho’s Jazz Orchestra

Miho WadaDescribed as one of the most entertaining jazz acts in New Zealand, Miho Wada and her pocket-sized orchestra seamlessly blend stylish contemporary jazz with Afro-Cuban and Pan Pacific flavours. A highly proficient flute and sax player in her own right, Miho has performed internationally with Nigel Kennedy, Iggy Pop and members of the Buena Vista Social Club. Expect happy groovy music.
