John Adams & Don’t Judge Me
The band is called “Don’t judge me”. Members are John Adams, Hugh Clarkson, Pete Harbidge and Kay McCabe. Photos attached. Hugh plays guitar, Pete plays guitar, cornet and harmonica, Kay on double bass, John on the cajon. The band came together to develop and perform John’s poetry and to have fun doing so!
John Adams’ published poetry collection is Briefcase (AUP, 2011). His new collection “Proving Rumpelstiltskin” is unpublished at present. It contains poems and songs.
On 23 June, the band will perform solely original material. John wrote the words, and collaborated with Hugh on music. In some cases, Hugh composed the music. The compositions are devised by the band. It is a varied musical mix – blues and lyrical songs, soulful, bitter and tender.
All the pieces for 23 June come from “Proving Rumpelstiltskin”.
John Adams is a retired judge, a writer of poems, film scripts, short stories and songs.
