A Matariki Celebration
Shelly Davies (Ngātiwai, Ngāti Porou) has recent works appearing in Puna Wai Korero, Ora Nui, and Blackmail Press. She’s been a winner of the AUT Creative Writing competition and a finalist in the Pikihuia Awards, and she recently guest-authored a short story in the collection The Settling Earth by UK Author Rebecca Burns.
Kani Te Manukura
Kani is of Ngai Tuhoe descent, and describes himself as a biodium: a hunter/gatherer/grower and cook. He writes for the spaces between those pursuits as part of a life lived in quiet rebellion. His work has been published in Blackmail Press and Ora Nui and is forthcoming in JAAM.
Fender & Bergette
Fender Maeva was named after the Fender Stratocaster electric guitar. He has a musical family and has performed since he was a teenager. Bergette McCarthy is a singer/songwriter and a vocalist since she was young . Bergette has released original music of her own.
