Guest Poet: Robert Sullivan
Robert Sullivan has written nine books, including the epic poems Star Waka, and Captain Cook in the Underworld, the graphic novel Maui: legends of the outcast, illustrated by Chris Slane, and the New Zealand Post Children’s Book of the Year, Weaving earth and sky, illustrated by Gavin Bishop. His poem ‘Kawe Reo / Voices Carry’ is inscribed on the front steps of the Auckland Central City Library.
Robert belongs to the Ngapuhi and Kai Tahu iwi. He co-edited three noted anthologies of Maori and Polynesian poetry with Albert Wendt and Reina Whaitiri.
Guest Musician: Michael Krishnan Jones
Mike Krishnan Jones is a guitarist, singer and entertainer from Wales. He moved to New Zealand six years ago and has been plying his trade as the frontman of popular duo Pat For President ever since. His lyrics provide food for thought through social observations and his folky delivery will have audiences enthralled!
