When she recovered she established Inside Out Open Mic for Writers, a monthly gig open to any kind of writing – flash, micro, short story, poetry – and showcasing musician guests. She gained second place in the Kevin Ireland Poetry Competition 2013.

Anita’s read poetry at many venues for example, Rhythm & Verse, Arts Festivals, and Lounge, and has had poems published in various journals including NZ Poetry Yearbook and Broadsheet.dubtext-2

She’s working with a group to bring the next NZ Poetry Conference & Festival to Auckland in November next year.

Guest Musician: Dubtext

Dubtext explores the sonic fringes of ambient, dub, downbeat and minimalist techno using found sounds and analogue synthesisers. Regularly seen on the streets and clubs of K Rd, Dubtext combines improvisation and spontaneity with electronic music that you can dance to but is designed for listening
