23rd April 2019 @ Poetrylive
8PM at the Thirsty Dog, 469 K’rd
Poetry Live is delighted to present:
An Evening with Caitlin Smith
N.B. We have the alternative format this evening:
Open mic will start at 8pm for roughly 45 minutes.
Caitlin will come on about 9pm. Then more open mic after.
Our Guest of Poetry and Music
Caitlin Smith calls herself a song-poet or story singer. So connected are her poetry and music that she is both Musical and Poetic guest at Poetry Live. She was no doubt singing before she could speak and views her spiritual parents Joni Mitchell and Leonard Cohen as the very reason she exists. The Caitlin Smith Trio (and earlier incarnation The Fondue Set) have held down residencies in Auckland for over two decades. “Writing allows me to make sense of the world, process circumstances and transmute the shit to fertilizer”.
Please remember to bring koha for our guest and that open mic is a 5 minute limit.
