Guest Poet
I K Paterson
I K Paterson is originally from Dunedin, but has been a K Rd local for a decade and a half. Being someone who can’t quite focus on any one career path, she considers herself a musician, film maker, writer and poet. She’s released three albums with bands, published numerous stories, been twice short-listed for the Sir Julius Vogel awards for her novellas, and is in the post production stages of her webseries ‘Immi the Vegan’. Her poetry can be found in publications such as Landfall, Takahe, JAAM and the Poetry NZ yearbook.
Guest Musician
John Goudge
John Goudge is a West Auckland musician, actor & director well-known for his dynamic performances.
John’s music is unique and engaging, & generally tells a story. At Poetry Live he’ll be featuring his ballads on acoustic guitar.
His long career making original music began with his first solo concert in 1993, & his funky rock band started appearing regularly at venues in Auckland City from 1999.
In May 2006 John re-launched the band with a sell-out concert at the Westpoint Performing Arts Centre.
Later that year the band was adjudged the “most outstanding band” at ALT TV’s Top of the Rocks competition, & in April 2008 his song Coma appear at number 1 on the Amplifier.co.nz charts.
With a concert at Titirangi Theatre, John released his acclaimed debut studio album Fool Circle in April 2010.
John also occasionally features with the Titirangi All-stars Soul Revue Band, & the world fusion dance band Ionosphere.
In Auckland he trains others to be performers at his drama school & music studio, as well as directing theatre shows & music events.
