8PM at the Thirsty Dog, 469 K’rd

Poetry Live introduces the amazing Saskia Lee Anderson and Madison O’Dwyer!

Come join us on the 6th of August!

On at 8:00pm, Saskia will wow us with some music! She has been singing and songwriting since she was 8 years old, but has been entertaining her family and friends since day dot. She comes from a strong theatre and music based background, and is the singer and rhythm guitarist for Auckland based band The Minnehahas.

Saskia is the Assistant Operations Manager for The Sound and Magic Music. She is also an active youth mentor for the Healing through Arts Trust, and actively contributes compositions to their performances. Saskia is additionally currently working on a podcast for the Healing through arts trust looking at methamphetamine addiction in New Zealand.

A dabble of open mic next and then Madison O’Dwyer at around 9:20!

Madison O’Dwyer is a poet and visual artist in Auckland, New Zealand. Her poetry has been published in journals such as Blackmail Press and JAAM; and two of her poems were chosen for the We, Society anthology by Printable Reality. Her first collection Baby Teeth was released in November 2017.

Madison’s poetry has been displayed as a part of the 2016 Studio One / Toi Tu Matariki Exhibition curated by Selwyn Vercoe and the 2017 Visualis Poetry Exhibition curated by Rachel Naomi during the New Zealand Poetry Conference. By day, Madison works in community-led development.

MC’d by the all-powerful Jamie ‘Can’t Stop Moving’ Trower.
